"Life's too short to be sittin' 'round miserable."

Sorry I've been gone for so long! I've been really busy, work had been stressful, and my boyfriend and I had broken up; in general, life had just been rough and I was taking a little break. But I'm back and better than before!

I'm turning twenty three this weekend and I'm ready to make good changes. It's time that I go after everything I want in life. Let the ambition restart! :o)

Juicy Couture tee. Eighty Six skirt. Gap flats. Marc Jacobs earrings. Guess watch. Forever 21 ring.

I went for a green and gold theme here. I had this Eighty Six skirt for awhile and had been dying to wear it; but sequin skirts--especially gold ones since the color makes it extra blingy--are kind of hard to pull off on a normal day. I paired gold skirt with my Juicy Couture screen tee since the gold lettering matched the skirt. Despite the fact the words are glittery, the screen tee adds casualness to the outfit. I added my gold rose ring for a little bit of statement, and anytime I wear dark green, I seem to always wear my Marc Jacobs owl earrings! Finally, to bring my outfit down a notch and prevent it from being over the top, I went with flats--dark green to match! :o)

Thus, when trying to wear something normally fancy/dressy for a normal day, dress it down with casual items such a screen tee and/or flats.

Also, advice of the day, as my shirt says, "Eat cake, wear Juicy Couture!" although not necessarily verbatim. (I, personally, am not a huge cake fan.) In a more general translation, eat what you want and dress fabulously! :o)

Have you seen the Pretty Little Liars season finale?? It was pretty good! And of course, expect Pretty Little Liars fashion inspirational pictures to follow later!

"Let the rain fall down and wake my dreams."

It's June which means there should not be any rain for next few months! (Yeah, I'm talking to you Pacific Northwest Mother Nature!)

Nearly everyone I went to high school with graduated [college] this last week. It is bittersweet to see people going all over while I'm still stuck here. If there is really such a thing as past lives, I think I was a California girl. Or Hawaii girl. Or Florida girl. Or anyplace-sunny-and-not-pouring-rain-all-the-time girl. My dad is pretty sick so I don't really forsee myself leaving here anytime soon; but I certainly hope I am not destined to be stuck here for the rest of my life.

Here is me trying to outsmart Mother Nature by getting pictures during a brief break in the rain.

While Gap is not one of my top favorite brands anymore (at least until they figure out their focus a little better), I still find great stuff from them time to time! I was going for a monochromatic green day and conveniently ended up dressing in Gap pretty much head to toe. Guess it was a Gap day!

Gap sweater. Gap trench jacket. Gap jeans. Gap City Flats. Cara Couture earrings. American Eagle necklace.

Feather extensions have been all the rage for awhile, and while I don't know how much longer they are going to be "in," I absolutely love the ones I just got put in recently. I like that mine are really thin and despite the somewhat brazen colors I have (aqua and magenta on one side; aqua, green, and purple on the other side), they are striped with black so they normally blend in with my hair easily.

I heard having tinsel extensions is supposed to be the hair fad for the summer, but I hope not; I think it would probably look tacky. :o( Would you wear tinsel in your hair? Feathers are probably as crazy as I will get with my hair!

I've been gone for a little while, what is new with anyone? Any new fads/trends you've picked up? Let me know!

I am also doing a better job updating my Facebook and Twitter! Friend/follow me! :o)

"Everything you are, falls from the sky like a star."

Take 2 for my pink pants! (They were first seen here.) I absolutely love them but they don't venture outside of my closet often because I fear I'll get them ruined. They are a really light pink, and are so light that with the addition of the bright sunlight, they kind of blend into my [cream] sweater in these pictures.

If I were more adventurous, I would take advantage of the subtle pink color and pair it with more vibrant colors, such as a nice green shirt (like I had actually considered). I have yet to decide if I didn't choose the more colorful outfit option because I didn't have the guts or because it's not really my personality--or both.

But what really happened was probably that I simply wanted to wear my new Juicy Couture jacket, which was gray, so I went with a semi pink and gray theme. For those who frequent my blog, you may notice that my Juicy Couture jacket looks pretty similar to the Abercrombie & Fitch jacket I often don (worn recently here); but they aren't exactly alike.

In fact, you will probably start seeing the Juicy Couture jacket more often because with its shorter sleeves (3/4 instead of full length) and thinner material, it's more of a thrown on for days that are warm but have potential for breezes or cooler evenings.

Gap sweater. Forever 21 cami. Juicy Couture jacket. Habitual jeans. Sophie watch.
Swarovski earrings. House of Harlow and Lee Angel rings. Stuart Weitzman heels.

I've always been a huge fan of rose gold--as you can see with my House of Harlow and Lee Angel rings, as well as my new watch. I really like that the rose gold color isn't as brazen as normal gold, but is still a nice contrast to silver.

I've probably had my Guess watch for about ten years now, and I have definitely grown attached to it; it's like a limb and I'm [almost] never without it. However, I finally got myself to buy a new watch so I could switch things up. Though I don't think that any watch will ever be able to fully replace my Guess watch, I love the rose gold. Plus, since I got it in the little girls' section [to easily accommodate my small wrist], it was a great bargain!

I am also currently in love with my new set of Lee Angel rings. I've always admired Lee Angel jewelry and only recently got around to a mini splurge on the set. I love everything about them--from the stars, to the rose gold, to the tiny stones, to the fact that I can wear them together as a set or choose if I feel like wearing a small, medium, or large star ring that day. :o)

Thanks to everyone who entered my giveaway! The winner will be announced at the end of the week :o)

Where does the time go?? It's the end of the week already!

"I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away."

My giveaway ends at the end of the week, don't forget to enter for a chance to win a bird necklace I made!

And speaking of birds, I absolutely love this duck in downtown Portland! It is pretty much one of my favorite things about Portland (aside from the shopping, of course!) :o)

Gap top. Free People skirt. People's Liberation jacket. Nordstrom ring.
Marc Jacobs necklace. Jeffrey Campbell Mary Jane Platform Pumps.

My boyfriend called these the many faces of me... :o)

I had a nice conversation with Aprilia of Aprilia Love earlier this month about the comfortableness of Jeffrey Campbells. She calls her Litas "heaven for [her] feet", but I have yet to find a pair of comfortable Jeffrey Campbells. The JC Mary Jane Platform Pumps are two hour shoes--max. And though my Whip 2 Booties (worn earlier this year) are more comfortable than these, they are really only relatively tolerable.

Is it just me? Do I have bad luck with Jeffrey Campbells? Are they shoes that are so beautiful, you are willing to suffer through?

I'm heading to bed now, anyone staying up/waking up early to watch the royal wedding? I will just Google pictures of her wedding dress later; I already heard it's Alexander Wang. :o)

"Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want."

Dear Readers,

Huge apologies for being such a bad blogger this month. :o( I know I've neglected updating and I'm sorry. It's just been a really busy month for me, and I think I had more on my plate than I could really carry. Most of my spare time was spent trying to squeeze in sleep.

It's my last week for my first internship so I am definitely looking forward to more sleep and more time in May--which means, I'll be back to my normal blogging self! :o)

Big thanks to those of you who loyally follow me and still visited, it means a lot!

"Let the rhythm change your world."

Currently loving my [semi] new Juicy Couture nailhead scarf! I wore it earlier in this post and also blogged about it, but let me tell you, I am still in love with as I was the day I bought it. I highly recommend infinity scarves--they're so easy to wear! I especially love the studs on my scarf because it makes it seem a bit edgier--just how I like it! (You can buy my scarf here if you're interested!)

Speaking of Juicy, I am also loving with my Juicy Couture mood ring (sold out everywhere online)! I loved mood rings as a kid, and the fact that this is a Juicy Couture mood ring makes it even better! And according to the blue of my mood ring, I was apparently happy! :o)

However, my favorite part of this outfit would probably be my [faux] leather skirt. I had been searching everywhere for a cute leather skirt and randomly came across this one in the sale racks at Forever 21. Score! Snagging a cute leather skirt at a great price (less than $20!) is a win!

This was yet another black day for me, but I attempted to make things less boring by wearing patterned tights and pink heels. My boss took one look at my outfit and called it "spicy." I took it as a compliment :o)

"So hold your head up, girl and you'll go far."

Gap top. Gap jacket. Patterson J. Kincaid skirt. DIY necklace. Forever 21 ring. Seychelles boots.

My necklace was a DIY project I came up with inspired by a Marc Jacobs necklace I saw. I started this post dedicated to the project but realized it would be much easier to show you how to make it if I had pictures, so I'll redo the project and take pictures. Look forward to that post! :o)

I'm really liking the whole big ring trend, as you can see with my cross ring. Though I think double finger rings are pretty swell, these are definitely more convenient and comfortable wearing on just a single finger. And I like that they give the illusion that they're a double finger ring. Look how similar the ring in this post looks to the ring here. I definitely plan on buying more big/wide statement rings! (Any reason to buy more jewelry, right?)

I've been on the lookout for cute flats and I came across these babies.

They are Jeremy Scott x Adidas "JS Wings Ballerina Shoes." They're a bit pricey at $100 retail, but they are so fabulous, they may well be worth it. I'm loving the pink ones, but the white ones are much more versatile, and the black ones are just plain fun!

I've had a super busy week and am definitely looking forward to the weekend! (Who knows, maybe I'll snag myself a pair of those shoes!)

"I was gone for a minute, now I'm back."

Gap top. People's Liberations jacket. Lucie Rose skirt. Nine West heels. Juicy Couture necklace and earrings.

Because I didn't have any good pictures of my own, here is a close up picture of my earrings courtesy of Nordstrom. These earrings are awesome because they say "Viva la Juicy Couture." AMEN. I love Juicy Couture's constant clever sayings and notations. :o)

The earrings were courtesy of the Boyfriend; he completely surprised me with them because I wasn't expecting to get them from him. I had actually just purchased the smaller black version of the hoops earrings (those ones say "I want more Juicy"), and it was a good thing I hadn't bought the pink ones myself! Then again, there's nothing wrong with backup!

And because I didn't buy into the whole issue with the changing zodiac signs, I proudly wear my Virgo necklace! (If you're a Capricorn or Libra, you can buy a similar necklace here for just $15! Sorry if you have another zodiac sign, the necklaces have sold quick!)

Nicole at Electric Daze thoughtfully awarded me with the Versatile Blogger Award! Yay!

In turn, I am supposed to reveal 7 things about myself and then pass this award on to 7 other bloggers. So....

7 things about me: (and okay, I semi cheated with "7")
1.
I can't roll my r's to save my life; my inability hindered my potential success in high school Spanish class.
1. a. I wish I had continued taking Spanish classes because my Spanish skills these days are pretty shoddy.
2. I have a thing for birds--real birds, stuffed animals, bird prints, bird embellishments, bird decor, etc.
3. I've been keeping my jewelry in their original bags/boxes but I've been finding that while they're hidden away in their bags/boxes, I forget what I own. Thus, I need to find a new method of organizing my jewelry.
4. I wear Aquolina Pink Sugar perfume. Only I've been running low for awhile and been too lazy to get a new bottle so I wear it only on special occasions.
4. a. I'm actually really anal about grammar but when I write emails and blogs, I write like I would talk.
5. (I almost numbered this "4. b." but didn't want to cheat too much with the amount of things I'm really allowed to tell you.) I'm an editor at heart; I would love an editing job. I confess that I take pleasure bleeding (with pen, of course) all over people's papers/writing, but I obviously just want to help!
5. a. (Sorry, I know I'm being pretty narcissistic with this too long list) I would have gone into journalism except all I really care about is editing and writing reviews and editorials and not really any of the meaty stuff. Plus, I wanted to make money.
6. I've been a Hello Kitty fan since I was eight, when my sister bought me my first Hello Kitty item (it was stationary).
7. I have a hard time getting rid of stuff because things easily have sentimental value to me. I only got rid of my Pokemon cards a few years ago! (Not that I had been much of a collector because I didn't really care about the game. I just collected the cute ones and only started collecting them because the boy I had a crush on in 5th grade liked Pokemon.)

7 bloggers I am passing this award on to: (it was a really tough decision!)
1.
Modanista Junkie.
2. Express-O.
3
. Fashion Meets Food.
4. Little T.
5. Michaela Noelle.
6. I Know, Right?
7. Glam Kitten's Litterbox.

I still have a lame cough going on, but after finishing my antibiotics, I am starting to feel like myself!

Have a good rest of the weekend! :o)
