Friend Friday: Color Wars

I joined Fashion Beauty Friend Friday ages ago, but kept missing the Friday posts for questions, so here is my first post!

1. What color dominates your closet?

Anyone who is a follower or a regular reader--or even simply glances at the last few blog posts--would believe that my closet is almost entirely dominated by black.  On contrary, my closet is fairly colorful; I do tend to have a lot of blues and pinks.  And while I admit that half my closet is probably neutrals and shades (whites and grays, not just black!), it's merely a habit and preference where I opt to wear black so often.

2. If money weren't an issue how would you change the color emphasis in your closet?

I don't think that money is really a factor in the colors of clothes I pick to buy or wear.  If anything, it would be more of an issue when it comes to jewelry and accessories.  I would likely buy a lot more colorful items as opposed to trying to find things that were more neutral and would match everything.

3. What is your mantra about mixing colors?

I rarely wear too many colors in one outfit, but if I were to go as far as mixing colors, I wouldn't wear two colors [together] that were next to each other on the color wheel; then it seems too matchy and in general, I find it doesn't look good.  I also don't ever wear opposite colors together simply because it's not my style.

4. For you, how do you incorporate color into your outfits?

Because I tend to wear black so often, I like to make my outfit less boring my adding in a pop of color.  Everything may be black, but I might have a colorful top or bottom.  I don't like dressing head to toe in absolute black so I try to incorporate color with some clothing item.

5. Which blogger(s) do you think do a good job of incorporating color
into their wardrobe?

I think Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere does a great job incorporating color into her wardrobe.  She almost always has some great colorful item in her outfit!

And because my wardrobe can't get enough black, I just recently added these R2 Roxana Boots!  I got them for an amazing deal and can't wait to wear them!  :o)

Black's just so much easier to use! haha, although I noticed last season I kept picking up gray pieces, and then I really needed a burst of colour in each outfit to not look too winter'd out.

Those boots are gorgeous!

Cheers, Cicy

Really love the answers!! I guess because I can relate to you that most of my outfits are black and grey. I'm starting to incorporating some colors to my outfit and this starts pretty good, I have combination of orange yellow and green so far lol.
Anyway for the Forever 21 shoes that I have, they are pretty high, the first time I wear it, it hurt my toes so bad, but basically I just need to break them before I can wear them again the second time, so they are now so comfortable, I was actually surprise

I'm the same like you when it comes to incorporating colors into my wardrobe since most of my clothes are white, black, gray or nudes. This spring, I'm buying some new bright pants and shoes :-) xoxoxoo
