I had another one of my monochromatic days...What can I say, black is my favorite color to wear! :o)

I know I fell off the face of the earth again...sorry! Life has been keeping me busy!

I love this People's Liberation top, it is fun, versatile, and really comfortable--yay for easy cute things to throw on! I specifically chose it to go with the Heartloom skirt because balance is usually key. If my skirt is fitted, I try to make my top a little looser and vice versa; it helps make the outfit not be too much (when really fitted top to bottom) or not so flattering (with everything loose fitting).

The next episode of Pretty Little Liars is supposed to be fashion focused and I am so so excited! In general, I can't get enough of that show, it's really gripping--I mean, how psycho does "A" keep getting??

Most stylish funeral attendees I've ever seen (from the last episode)!

From the next episode's fashion show, they look amazing! Hanna's dress is super cute, Spencer's dress is super plunging, Emily's dress is a great color, and maybe if the nude part of Aria's dress was a different color, I'd like it.

"'Cause you can, so you do."

Have you tried the Starbucks Toffee Frappuccinos? I love them! Clearly, because I am endorsing them in a following picture and am not paid for it!

Remember those black Calvin Klein heels I used to wear almost always? (They were my go-to heels after all!) Well unfortunately for me, I can't find them. I am 99% sure my closet ate them. But in conclusion, it is why I've been wearing these BCBG wedges so often. They often just happen to be the last worn pair of shoes and not yet placed back correctly in the closet; so when I'm in a hurry, they are the most accessible.

I really need to look for my Calvin Klein heels though (or dig other black heels out) because the Mary Jane style of the BCBG wedges make them a little less versatile. I absolutely love the wedges; but with this dress, it makes me look a tad matronly--which isn't the look I'm going for!

Speaking of things I don't go for, I love shopping online because you can find amazing steals and deals; however, the downside is you're not always 100% guaranteed what you get will be perfect. Obviously when it comes to clothes, if you're in a store, you can try something on. If you get it online, even if you know what size you are in a certain brand, you can find that you don't like the fit of something.

When it comes to accessories, you could potentially go wrong when pictures are extra zoomed in or not shown to scale. When I bought the Juicy bracelet I'm wearing in this post on a flash sale site, I thought it was going to be a lot thicker. Thankfully, it's still really cute, and I love it! You can buy the pink or white version of it here for just $23! And my picture wearing it is accurate!! :o)

"I'm wearing all my favorite brands, brands, brands..."

Okay, I'm not wearing all my favorite brands, but a few of my very favorites--Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, People's Liberation, and House of Harlow! :o)

In yesterday's post, I was talking about how much I loved wide statement rings that cover multiple fingers and give the illusion of a double finger ring. And voila, another favorite ring of mine! Of course, I love anything House of Harlow, but I love the key ring not only for its antique feel, but also definitely for its wideness! Such a true statement because I totally need more Juicy! :o) I certainly don't love every single item they make--the case with most brands--but I'm definitely a Juicy Couture girl, especially when it comes to their jewelry!

Also, if you like my bird necklace, buy it here for $1.50! (Well, not including shipping. But if you visit your nearest Forever 21 store, you can buy it for $1.50!) It also comes in silver, and at the price, why not get both colors? I'm loving Forever 21's cheap $1.50 jewelry selection. They generally have always had cheap jewelry, but at $1.50, the jewelry is practically a steal! If you consider yourself a frugalista, be sure to check it out online or in stores. :o)

All I want...is a little white dress.

You are the wearer; you decide how to something is worn. We wear dresses as tops. Tops as dresses. We do as we please.

When I was around 11, we were shopping for a flower girl dress for me and went into a Betsey Johnson boutique. I spotted this gorgeous white party dress and thought to myself, "I would totally wear that as a wedding dress!"

ShopBop recently unveiled their Wedding Boutique earlier this week, and I absolutely love their selection of wedding dresses. I'm not entirely sure I would them all necessarily as wedding dresses, but I know for sure that I would wear most of them in general! Thus, my selection is simply amazing white dresses (though I sneaked some non-white ones in).

Obsession of the Moment: LWD --Little White Dress



1. Temperly London "Mini Oriel Dress": love, love, love the detailing! It turns what would've been such a simplistic dress into a unique piece.
2. BCBGMAXARIA "Carly Layered Lace Gown": I have a thing for both layers and lace, but I simply love this dress. That tie at the waist is simply the icing on the cake.
3. Leila Hafzi Bridal "Mariam Gown": simply romantic. I would wear this dress to a wedding (but probably not if I was the bride).
4. Doo.Ri "Torqued Draped Dress": such a lovely one shoulder dress!
5. Lela Rose "Brocade V-Neck Dress with Belt": brocade instantly dresses up any item; it's a lot like tweed and almost always makes something classy.
6. Alice + Olivia "Daisy Ruffle V-Neck Dress": I'm not sure if you can really go wrong with Alice + Olivia; they make the best dresses!
7. Temperly London "Mini Marcia Dress": how fun and carefree is this dress! I'd wear it on a sunny day. :o)
8. 3.1 Phillip Lim "Cross Collar Faux Wrap Dress": I think this dress would be perfect business/professional attire; what a cute dress to wear into the office! [Faux] wrap dresses are a bit boring and generic but the cross collar makes it worth wearing.


I've found that a lot of [shopping] sites that attempt bridal boutiques tend to have a boring selection, but I think Shopbop fared pretty well. At least their selection was pretty! My ideal wedding dress would have a long, really full skirt, but if I had to pick one of the dresses to make my wedding dress, this Leila Hafzi Bridal "Vanda Gown" would definitely be it:



I love its elegance and that while it's simple, it's not boring.

Yay for more over-the-knee socks! I told you I bought a whole bunch of pairs! When I bought this pair, I hadn't actually been sure that I would ever wear them because they're not a very versatile color. In honestly, I bought them for the frilly top and the pink bow. :o) But I'm glad I did because I love them!

I also love the jacket here because it's so fun with its tiers and ruffles, big buttons, and full skirt, and despite all the frills and thrills, this jacket is actually very low maintenance with its nylon material. Interestingly enough, this jacket has a suspiciously close resemblance to this Marc Jacobs Sateen Tiered Coat... I didn't plan it that way--in fact, I didn't know about the MJ jacket until I came across it randomly shopping online after getting the Forever 21--but I would say I certainly got the look for cheaper!

However, speaking of getting the look for cheaper, you can get my Tarina Tarantino "Carved Rose" bracelets for $38 each.....

"And there's many shades of black."

Another one of my monochromatic days.  I love wearing black; it's my favorite color (if we ignore the fact that it's really a shade...) and it goes with everything--including itself.  I've been working to branch out on my color palettes, but there are days like these where I'm in black almost head to toe.  I swear my closet is full of color, but I just have a strong attachment to black.  Besides, shades and neutrals are very "in" this season.  :o)

I just finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.  I had been planning on watching the movie and wanted to read the book first.  I really liked the book; it was a great read.  I was up until almost 7am because I wanted to finish the book.  I think the last time I was so engrossed in a book that I was willing to sacrifice my sleep was with Harry Potter (any of them).  That's not to say the books are similar because The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with Harry Potter are on practically opposite ends of the spectrum.  However, as J.K. Rowling writes an amazing fantasy book, Larsson is an enthralling thriller novelist.  I recommend The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to anyone looking for a good mystery/thriller.  The story is pretty intense and definitely not for the faint of heart.  I give it a 4/5.

"Where everything was exactly how it seemed."

These Habitual skinny jeans were not only really cute, they were such a great deal; I absolutely had to get them.  However, they were also light pink.  Granted, I love light pink!  But light pink pants?  I had to debate the logistics of buying the jeans, but finally decided I could make it work.  And voila!  Here is proof that they did not become just another cute bargain that became dormant in my closet.  

The easiest way to make colored pants work is to not think of them specifically as "colored pants."  Rather, think of them as something more along the lines as the "standout clothing item."  Treat them how you might treat any other colored or patterned item of clothing--when you have an item you want to stand out, neutralize everything out.  My go to "neutral" color is black.

Thus, aside from my pink pants, my whole outfit is black.  If you have too many standout items, your whole outfit can risk looking busy.

"I just want you to know who I am."

I thought I would try out the romper trend before the weather gets impossibly cold.  I bought the romper a few sizes up, but it worked out fairly well.  My problem is that I'm a pear shape; so when it comes to rompers or even some styles of dresses, it's really hard to find something that will accommodate my small upper body and curvy lower half.

I really like these heels!  For someone who has ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), I have a thing for snake print.  (For example: dress I wore in a previous post.)   The moment I saw the heels, I knew I had to get them!  Thankfully, the shoes are pretty comfortable!  :o)

I'm definitely dreading the start of the nonstop Pacific Northwest rain.  I find myself getting lazy dressing up when the weather starts getting gross; I just want to wear hoodies and jeans everywhere--not so fashionable!

I love the whimsical, eccentric, and fun style of Alex & Chloe.  This tee shirt is one of my favorites.  It's really comfortable and simple, yet fun.  Apparently, it is also a celebrity favorite as seen on Joe Jonas (of the Jonas brothers) here, Jessica Stroup (Silver) wore it in an episode of 90210 seen here, and Demi Lovato wears the pink version of this tee as seen here.  I admit that my outfit doesn't entirely match (I have a really bad habit of not changing purses to match outfits), but in my defense, it was meant to be a casual outfit because I kind of threw everything on in a frenzy to leave and not be so late.  I love the "anytime factor" of the tee shirt.  I think I could even dress it up, easily pairing it with a simple skirt--a red skirt would be great!  (If only I had a red skirt...)

I've been pretty sick lately and I'm hoping my Rudolph nose isn't too noticeable.  It was my first big event as an event [planning] intern so I didn't want to miss it.  I tried to look as put together as possible to make up for my grogginess.

It was my first attempt at sporting a boyfriend blazer though.  Do you think I pulled it off okay?  I think I'm going to pair it with a dress or miniskirt next time.

I didn't get a close-up of my earrings but they're heart earrings from the "Return to Tiffany" collection which I absolutely love.  You can get items from the collection for as little as $50 so it's totally affordable!

It was Valentine's Day, but I had chosen an all black outfit.  It didn't seem to be very appropriate for the occasion so I had to throw on a bright pink trench to liven things up!
